A letter sent to our neeighbours on Gunton Lane explaining the proposed works to our HQ.
We thought we’d write you a short letter explaining some improvements we’ll be making to our Gunton Lane headquarters and how this may (temporarily) affect you.
The group has been awarded a grant to make a number of improvements to our hall and grounds. Part of this includes the re-surfacing of our car park and the short stretch of Gunton Lane at the bottom of it.
We believe we will be able to keep access through at least one lane at all times. This work is expected to be completed by the end of March 2017 and we will write to you again as soon as an exact date is known.
You may have noticed that we have recently removed the paper recycling bank. The bank has been subject to arson attacks and fly tipping in the past and we felt that this was not worth the (small) monetary return we were receiving from it.
We would like to thank all of the users of the paper bank and encourage you (and your friends!) to continue to use the bottle bank which we have no plans to remove.
Finally, our annual Costessey Night Hike will be taking place on Saturday 25th March 2017. This is our busiest night of the year which we appreciate can be quite disruptive at times. To this end we have brought the start time forward by 30 minutes and encouraged participants to car share wherever possible.
Participants will also be reminded of the respect to be shown to our neighbours and to take any litter home with them. We are also looking as possible ways to reduce congestion during the busy drop off/pick up periods of the night.
We’d like to thank you for your ongoing support and welcome questions or comments you may have.
